Howard University Faculty Practice Plan
Vincent Orange Jr. recently accepted a dual appointment to serve as Associate Vice President for Practice Operations with Adventist Health Care and Chief Operating Officer for Howard University Faculty Practice Plan (HUFPP) in Washington, DC. The Faculty Practice Plan represents 150+ physicians that teach at Howard University College of Medicine and provide inpatient & outpatient services at Howard University Hospital. Vincent is part of a new executive team that will execute HUFPP’s five-year strategic plan.
Prior to Adventist, Vincent served as Regional Director for Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health (RWJBH) where he implemented the Integrated Practice Agreement (IPA) with Rutgers Medical Group. Under his leadership the 350+ physician practice achieved profits of $2.46 million and finished 30,567 wRVUs above budget in year one of the IPA.
Prior to RWJBH, Vincent served as Service Line Director for Ophthalmology and Surgical Subspecialties at University of Virginia (UVA) Health System. Vincent successfully implemented the COVID recovery plan, where the service line finished $6.1 million above budget and increased surgical case volume by 1,650 cases.
Vincent started his career at MedStar Health, Inc. where he spent nine years. His most senior positions were Department Administrator-Family Medicine and Manager of Operations-Executive Administration. Vincent supported openning MedStar Lafayette Centre, a $42 million capital project and Ambulatory Surgery Center with Primary Care and 14 specialty practices.
Vincent has also held leadership positions with John Hopkins Health System, George Washington Medical Faculty Associates and Unity Health Care, Inc.
Vincent earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Morehouse College. Vincent also earned a Master of Health Services Administration from George Washington University and a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University. Vincent was awarded a Faculty Appointment by the Dean of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as a Volunteer Instructor in the Department of Medicine.
